Lysimachia

Lysimachia is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the family Primulaceae. They are commonly known as "loosestrife" because of the similarity of their leaves to those of the unrelated plant family Lythraceae. Lysimachia plants are native to Europe, Asia, and North America, and are now grown in many other parts of the world as ornamental plants.

Lysimachia plants have upright or trailing stems that can reach up to three feet in height. The flowers are typically yellow, although some species have white or pink blooms, and are arranged in clusters. The foliage of Lysimachia plants is often green and can be quite ornamental, with lance-shaped leaves.
