Aster
Aster is a genus of herbaceous perennials that are native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. They are members of the Asteraceae family and are commonly grown as ornamental plants for their attractive, daisy-like flowers that bloom in the late summer and fall. Aster are popular in cottage gardens, borders, and as cut flowers.
Aster have a clump-forming growth habit and produce branching stems that are adorned with lance-shaped leaves. The leaves are typically green and may be hairy or smooth. In the late summer and fall, Aster produce showy, daisy-like flowers that come in a wide range of colors, including white, pink, purple, blue, and red. The flowers are typically held above the foliage on tall, sturdy stems and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
