Liatris
Liatris is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the family Asteraceae. They are commonly known as "blazing stars" or "gayfeathers" because of the shape and color of their flowers, which resemble a fluffy spike. Liatris plants are native to North America, and are now grown in many other parts of the world as ornamental plants.
Liatris plants have upright stems that can reach up to five feet in height. The flowers are typically purple, pink, or white, and are arranged in a spike. The foliage of Liatris plants is often green and slightly hairy, and can be quite narrow and pointed.
