Aubrieta
Aubrieta is a genus of flowering plants in the Brassicaceae family, which is native to Europe and Asia. They are low-growing, evergreen perennials that are commonly grown as groundcovers in rock gardens, borders, and on walls. Aubrieta are also known by the common name rock cress.
Aubrieta have a mat-forming growth habit and produce attractive, lobed leaves that are typically green or grey in color. In the spring, they produce masses of small, four-petaled flowers in shades of purple, pink, and blue that cover the plant and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
