Armeria
Armeria, commonly known as sea thrift, is a genus of herbaceous perennials that are native to coastal regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. They are members of the plumbago family (Plumbaginaceae) and are commonly grown as ornamental plants for their attractive, globe-shaped flowers that bloom in the spring and summer. Armeria are popular in rock gardens, coastal gardens, and as cut flowers.
Armeria have a clump-forming growth habit and produce tufts of grass-like leaves that are arranged in a rosette pattern. The leaves are typically a deep green color and may have a bluish or grayish tint. In the spring and summer, Armeria produce showy, globe-shaped flowers that are held above the foliage on slender stems. The flowers are typically pink or white, but may also be red or purple.
