Echinacea
Echinacea is a genus of flowering plants that belongs to the family Asteraceae. They are commonly known as "coneflowers" because of the shape of their flowers, which have a cone-shaped center surrounded by radiating petals. Echinacea plants are native to North America, and are now grown in many other parts of the world as ornamental plants and for their medicinal properties.
Echinacea plants have tall, sturdy stems that can reach up to four feet in height. The flowers are typically pink, purple, or white, and have a distinctive cone-shaped center that is often brown or orange. The foliage of Echinacea plants is often green and lance-shaped, and can be quite rough to the touch.
