With Plants for all Seasons's Live Delivery Guarantee, you can shop with complete peace of mind, knowing that your green investments are protected from our nursery to your doorstep.
Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Philodendron patriciae is one of the most elegant and highly sought-after species in the Philodendron genus, known for its long, pendant foliage, dramatic veining, and refined, architectural growth habit. Native to the humid rainforests of Colombia, this rare climbing aroid develops long, strap-like leaves that can exceed a metre in length under ideal conditions. The foliage matures into deep green, softly rippling blades with prominent, quilted venation that adds texture and depth. As a true climber, P. patriciae thrives when grown on a tall moss pole or plank, where it can stretch upwards and display its full leaf potential. While it does demand consistent warmth, humidity, and good light, the plant rewards the attentive grower with one of the most graceful and sculptural forms in the tropical plant world. A must-have for collectors and lovers of bold, flowing foliage.
Indoors: Prefers bright, indirect light. A position near an east- or west-facing window is ideal.
Direct sun: Avoid intense, direct sunlight — it may scorch the leaves.
Low light: Tolerated to a degree, but will result in reduced leaf size and slower growth.
Ideal temperature: 20–28°C (68–82°F)
Minimum temperature: Keep above 16°C (61°F)
Humidity: Requires high humidity (60–80%). Essential for best growth and leaf elongation. Use a humidifier or pebble tray in dry indoor environments.
Watering frequency: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil is dry. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Tip: Use filtered or rainwater to avoid mineral build-up.
Winter care: Reduce watering slightly if growth slows, but never allow the plant to dry out completely.
Soil type: Light, airy, and moisture-retentive. Use an aroid mix — compost blended with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir.
pH: Slightly acidic to neutral (5.5–7.0)
Repotting: Every 1–2 years or when roots begin to circle the pot. Choose a tall pot and provide a sturdy support for climbing.
Growing season (spring–summer): Feed every 4–6 weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser or one high in nitrogen for foliage growth.
Autumn–winter: Feed every 6–8 weeks or pause if plant goes semi-dormant.
Pruning: Rarely necessary except to remove old or damaged leaves.
Leaf care: Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and encourage healthy photosynthesis.
Support: Provide a tall moss pole or coir plank to mimic natural climbing behaviour and encourage mature foliage.
Stem cuttings: Propagate via node cuttings in water, sphagnum moss, or an aroid mix.
Air layering: Useful for larger, established plants.
Common pests: Spider mites, mealybugs, and thrips — particularly in low humidity.
Symptoms: Yellowing, curling, or damaged leaves; webbing or sticky residue.
Treatment: Wipe down foliage and treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap. Increase humidity and airflow.
Common issues:
Crisping edges: Usually due to low humidity or underwatering.
Slow growth: May result from low light or poor soil aeration.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Contains calcium oxalates which may cause irritation.
Precaution: Keep out of reach of children and pets.
A truly sculptural and rare tropical ideal for plant collectors and botanical interiors.
Best grown on a tall pole in a bright, warm, and humid location.
Pairs well with other high-end aroids such as Philodendron billietiae, Anthurium magnificum, or Monstera dubia.
Offers a flowing, dramatic form with luxurious texture — a centrepiece plant for serious collectors.
With patience and care, Philodendron patriciae becomes a living artwork in any space.
