Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. We collaborate exclusively with leading courier services, renowned for their reliability and exceptional handling practices, to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. Philodendron ‘Birkin Galaxy’ is a striking and unique cultivar of the popular Philodendron ‘Birkin’, known for its bold foliage and celestial-looking variegation. A rare sport or variation of the standard Birkin, the ‘Galaxy’ form features deep green, ovate leaves marked with both creamy-white pinstripes and occasional flecks or splashes of pale variegation — often resembling a starry night sky. This compact, upright-growing aroid is perfect for tabletops, desks, and plant shelves, offering a sophisticated yet playful look to any indoor plant collection. Like most philodendrons, Birkin Galaxy is easy to care for, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced collectors. It thrives in bright, indirect light, appreciates consistent moisture, and will slowly develop more variegated leaves as it matures. Its rarity and evolving leaf patterns make it an eye-catching and conversation-starting plant for any home or shop display.
Indoors: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation.
Low light: Tolerates lower light but may lose variegation and produce darker, greener leaves.
Direct sunlight: Avoid harsh sun, which can scorch the delicate leaf edges.
Ideal temperature: 18–26°C (65–79°F)
Minimum temperature: Keep above 13°C (55°F)
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Misting or using a humidity tray can help in dry homes.
Watering frequency: Water when the top 2–4 cm of soil is dry. Keep compost lightly moist but never soggy.
Tip: Use lukewarm, filtered water to avoid fluoride build-up or leaf edge burn.
Winter: Water less frequently while growth slows.
Soil type: Well-draining, airy mix. A blend of houseplant compost with added perlite, orchid bark, or coco coir is ideal.
pH: Slightly acidic to neutral (5.5–7.0)
Repotting: Every 1–2 years, or when rootbound. Repot in spring for best results.
Growing season (spring–summer): Feed every 4 weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength.
Autumn–winter: Pause or reduce feeding depending on light and growth rate.
Pruning: Minimal. Remove yellow or damaged leaves as needed to maintain appearance.
Leaf care: Wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust and enhance the variegation.
Growth habit: Upright and clump-forming — rarely vines but may become top-heavy as it matures.
Stem cuttings: Can be propagated by taking a node-bearing cutting and rooting in water or moist compost.
Note: Variegation may vary in propagated plants — not all cuttings will maintain 'Galaxy' markings.
Common pests: Spider mites, mealybugs, and aphids — more likely in dry indoor conditions.
Symptoms: Curled leaves, webbing, sticky residue.
Treatment: Isolate and treat with neem oil, insecticidal soap, or wipe manually.
Common issues:
Yellowing leaves: Typically due to overwatering or poor drainage.
Brown tips: Usually caused by low humidity or inconsistent watering.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Can cause oral irritation or digestive upset.
Precaution: Keep out of reach of pets and children.
