Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Hoya cv. ‘Joy’ is a stunning hybrid variety known for its beautifully variegated leaves and fragrant star-shaped flowers. As a member of the Apocynaceae family, this epiphytic plant is highly sought after by collectors due to its striking foliage and relatively easy care requirements. It thrives in warm, humid conditions, making it a fantastic choice for indoor plant enthusiasts.
The leaves of Hoya cv. ‘Joy’ are thick, waxy, and often display beautiful variegation. They can range from deep green to creamy yellow with splashes of white or light green. The edges of the leaves may have a subtle wavy texture, adding to their unique appearance. These semi-succulent leaves help the plant retain moisture, making it more drought-tolerant than some other Hoya species.
The flowers appear in clusters and are small, star-shaped, and waxy in texture. They are typically pale pink or creamy white with a darker centre. The blooms emit a sweet, pleasant fragrance, especially during the evening. With the right care, Hoya cv. ‘Joy’ can produce flowers multiple times a year, particularly in warm and humid conditions.
This Hoya is a vining epiphyte, meaning it naturally grows by climbing or trailing. It is well-suited for trellises, moss poles, or hanging baskets, allowing its elegant vines to cascade beautifully. Growth is moderate, but it can be encouraged with optimal light and humidity.
Hoya cv. ‘Joy’ thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can cause leaf burn, especially on variegated sections, while too little light may slow growth and reduce flowering. If grown indoors, an east- or west-facing window is ideal. Some morning sun is beneficial, but the plant should be protected from intense afternoon rays.
This plant prefers warm temperatures between 18–30°C (65–86°F). It is not frost-tolerant and should be kept above 10°C (50°F) at all times. High humidity (above 60%) is ideal, though it can adapt to moderate humidity levels. If the air is too dry, misting the plant or using a humidifier can help maintain optimal conditions.
Water when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Since the leaves store some moisture, it is better to slightly underwater than overwater. Reduce watering in winter when the plant’s growth slows. Always use room-temperature, non-chlorinated water to prevent stress on the roots.
A well-draining and aerated potting mix is essential. A good mix includes orchid bark, perlite or pumice, coco coir or peat moss, and a small amount of charcoal for improved drainage. This allows oxygen to reach the roots and prevents water from sitting in the soil.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during spring and summer. If encouraging flowering, use a fertiliser with a higher phosphorus content. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter when the plant’s growth naturally slows.
Repot the plant every 2-3 years or when the roots outgrow the pot. A slightly larger container with drainage holes is best to prevent excess moisture retention. Terracotta pots are recommended as they allow the soil to dry out more quickly, reducing the risk of root rot.
Prune occasionally to control the shape and encourage bushier growth. Avoid cutting off flower peduncles, as Hoyas rebloom from the same nodes. Cleaning the leaves with a damp cloth helps remove dust and improves photosynthesis.
Propagation is best done through stem cuttings. Cuttings should include at least one node and can be rooted in water, sphagnum moss, or a well-draining mix. Rooting typically takes 2-6 weeks, depending on temperature and humidity.
Yellowing leaves are often caused by overwatering, while wrinkled leaves may indicate underwatering or low humidity. If the plant does not flower, it may not be receiving enough light or nutrients. Root rot can develop if the soil stays too wet, so ensuring proper drainage is essential. Common pests include mealybugs, spider mites, and aphids, which can be managed with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
