Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.

Maranta leuconeura var. erythroneura ‘Fascinator’, commonly known as the Red Prayer Plant, is one of the most striking and beloved tropical houseplants, famed for its vibrant patterned foliage and daily leaf movements. A member of the Marantaceae family, it originates from the rainforests of Brazil, where it grows as a low, spreading groundcover under the forest canopy.
The oval leaves are a deep, velvety green with bright pink-red veins radiating from the midrib, forming a feather-like pattern. The undersides are rich burgundy-purple, creating beautiful contrast. The common name “Prayer Plant” refers to the plant’s fascinating nyctinastic behaviour — its leaves fold upward at night like hands in prayer, then open again at dawn.
Compact, colourful, and full of character, Maranta ‘Fascinator’ is an excellent choice for terrariums, tabletops, or shaded shelves where its dynamic foliage can be appreciated up close.
Prefers bright, indirect light or dappled shade. Too much direct sunlight can fade the leaf colours or cause browning, while too little light may reduce leaf movement and variegation intensity.
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 2–3 cm feels slightly dry. Use filtered, rain, or distilled water if possible, as tap water minerals can cause leaf spotting. Reduce watering slightly in winter.
Temperature: Prefers warmth, 18–26°C. Protect from draughts and cold below 15°C.
Humidity: Requires high humidity (60–80%) to keep leaves vibrant and free from crispy edges. Mist regularly, group with other plants, or use a humidifier for best results.
Use a light, moisture-retentive but well-draining mix — peat-free compost combined with perlite and coco coir is ideal. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the soil and maintain healthy growth.
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser. Pause feeding in winter.
Trim any yellow or damaged leaves at the base to encourage new growth. Wipe leaves gently to remove dust and maintain their velvety texture. Regular pruning also helps the plant stay compact and bushy.
A moderate grower that typically reaches 20–30 cm tall and wide. Its trailing habit makes it perfect for low bowls, hanging planters, or as part of mixed displays.
Brown tips or edges: Low humidity or fluoride in tap water.
Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poorly draining soil.
Leaf curling or loss of movement: Too little light or very dry air.
Pests: Occasionally spider mites or thrips in low humidity.
Named after the Italian botanist Bartolomeo Maranta, this species has become a houseplant classic thanks to its bold colouration and mesmerising leaf movements. The ‘Fascinator’ variety, with its vivid red veins, is particularly showy and loved by collectors. Its compact form and low-light tolerance make it ideal for shaded interiors, while its nightly “prayer” adds a touch of wonder to any room.
