Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Crassula ovata 'Little Hobbit' is a cultivar of the commonly known Jade Plant. Unlike the traditional Jade Plant with its flat, oval-shaped leaves, the 'Little Hobbit' variety has curled or tubular green leaves, giving it a distinctive appearance.
Leaves: Curled, tubular green leaves with reddish edges, especially when exposed to sunlight.
Flowers: It may produce small, star-shaped pink or white flowers, although flowering is infrequent when grown indoors.
Light: Prefers bright light, and can tolerate direct sunlight. The reddish hue on the leaf edges becomes more pronounced with more light exposure.
Water: Like many succulents, it's essential to avoid overwatering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce watering frequency during the winter months.
Soil: A well-draining succulent or cactus mix is ideal. You can also improve drainage by adding coarse sand or perlite to a regular potting mix.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 60°F (15°C) and 80°F (27°C). It's not frost-hardy, so if you're keeping it outdoors, ensure it's protected from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
Humidity: Adapts well to average household humidity levels. High humidity can be problematic, so ensure good air circulation around the plant.
Feeding: During the active growing season (spring and summer), feed the plant every 6-8 weeks with a diluted succulent or cactus fertilizer.
Pruning: While pruning is not strictly necessary for health, you can pinch back or trim the plant to maintain a desired shape or size.
Pests: Watch out for common succulent pests like mealybugs, spider mites, and aphids. Treat infestations promptly.
Propagation: 'Little Hobbit' can be propagated from leaf cuttings or stem cuttings. For leaf cuttings, place a healthy leaf on top of soil, and it should start developing roots in a few weeks. For stem cuttings, allow the cut end to callus over a day or two before placing it in soil.
Other Tips: While Crassula plants are generally easy to care for, they are sensitive to overwatering. Ensure pots have drainage holes, and be cautious not to let the plant sit in water.
The 'Little Hobbit' is a unique and attractive addition to any succulent collection. By providing it with the right care conditions, it can thrive and grow healthily. Always adjust care routines based on the specific conditions of your environment.
