Due to the sensitive and breakable nature of our products, it's understandable that damages may occur despite our meticulous packaging methods. If you find that your plant or pot has arrived in a less than satisfactory condition, please reach out to us at hello@plantsforallseasons.co.uk within a month of your delivery date. When contacting us, please provide your order reference, alongside a photo clearly showing the damaged item and its packaging, including the delivery label. We are committed to resolving such issues by offering a refund or a replacement, depending on the availability of the item in question.
We are unable to accept returns that are not related to damage because plants are inherently perishable and delicate. It's also worth noting that the plant you receive may slightly differ from the images displayed on our website. This variation is natural, given that each plant is unique and subject to seasonal growth changes.
At Plants for all Seasons, we recognise the critical role our courier partners play in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your plants. Philodendron billietiae ‘Variegata’ is one of the most coveted and show-stopping aroids available to collectors and design-led interiors alike. Native to French Guiana, Brazil, and Suriname, the species is known for its dramatically long, arrowhead-shaped leaves with bold orange petioles, and the ‘Variegata’ form adds stunning splashes, marbling, and streaks of creamy white, yellow, or mint across the deep green foliage. Each leaf is uniquely patterned, giving the plant a one-of-a-kind, artistic quality. With its upright yet slightly arching habit and narrow footprint, Philodendron billietiae ‘Variegata’ is ideal for display as a vertical statement plant on a moss pole or climbing frame. It thrives in bright, filtered light and high humidity and rewards patient, attentive care with long-lasting beauty and slow but steady growth. A true centrepiece for serious collectors and lovers of botanical elegance.
Indoors: Requires bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation and prevent reversion.
Direct sun: Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which may scorch the variegated areas.
Low light: Not recommended — may result in loss of variegation and elongated growth.
Ideal temperature: 20–28°C (68–82°F)
Minimum temperature: Keep above 16°C (61°F); sensitive to cold and draughts.
Humidity: Requires high humidity (60–80%). Use a humidifier or pebble tray in drier spaces.
Watering frequency: Water when the top 4–6 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy.
Winter: Reduce watering slightly as growth slows.
Water tip: Use filtered or rainwater where possible to avoid mineral buildup on variegated leaves.
Soil type: Loose, well-draining aroid mix. Ideal blend: houseplant compost, orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir.
pH: Slightly acidic to neutral (5.5–7.0)
Repotting: Every 1–2 years or when rootbound. Provide a tall pot with a moss pole or stake for climbing support.
Growing season (spring–summer): Feed every 4–6 weeks with a balanced or foliage-focused liquid fertiliser.
Autumn–winter: Feed every 6–8 weeks or pause entirely depending on growth activity.
Pruning: Minimal pruning needed — remove yellowing or damaged leaves with clean scissors.
Leaf care: Wipe gently with a soft cloth to maintain shine and photosynthesis.
Support: Best grown with a moss pole or coir support to promote larger and more mature foliage.
Stem cuttings: Take node cuttings and root in water, moss, or a moist aroid mix. Ensure at least one node with an aerial root.
Air layering: Ideal for mature, well-established vines if propagating selectively.
Common pests: Spider mites, thrips, mealybugs — especially in low humidity.
Symptoms: Pale spots, webbing, curling leaves, or sticky residue.
Treatment: Treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap and isolate if infested.
Common issues:
Reverted leaves: Caused by insufficient light — move to a brighter location.
Brown edges: Often linked to low humidity or inconsistent watering.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Contains calcium oxalates that may irritate the mouth and throat.
Precaution: Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
A rare, architectural aroid with vivid variegation and orange petioles — a true collector's item.
Excellent for climbing up moss poles in well-lit interiors or warm conservatories.
Pairs beautifully with other variegated aroids like Philodendron ‘Jose Buono’, Monstera albo, or Anthurium ‘Silver Blush’.
Requires consistent conditions but rewards care with slow, steady, dramatic growth.
A centrepiece plant with high impact and lasting elegance.
