Light:

  • Hoyas thrive in bright, indirect light. They can tolerate some direct morning or late afternoon sun but should be protected from harsh midday sunlight, which can burn their leaves.

Water:

  • Allow the topsoil to dry out partially between waterings. Hoyas prefer not to sit in waterlogged soil. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure that your pot has good drainage.

Humidity:

  • These plants enjoy a humid environment, typical of their native tropical habitat. Aim for a humidity level of 40-60%. If your indoor air is dry, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray filled with water to increase humidity.

Temperature:

  • Most Hoyas prefer warm temperatures between 18°C to 29°C (65°F to 85°F) and should be protected from temperatures below 10°C (50°F).

Soil:

  • Use a well-draining potting mix. A mixture of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark works well for most Hoyas, providing the drainage and aeration they need.

Feeding:

  • Fertilize your Hoya with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in the fall and winter.

Pruning:

  • Hoyas can be pruned to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. It's also fine to remove any dead or yellowing leaves. However, be careful not to cut off the peduncles (flower spikes), as Hoyas can rebloom from the same spikes multiple times.

Repotting:

  • Hoyas prefer to be slightly root-bound and only need repotting every 2-3 years. When repotting, choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one.

Pests:

  • Keep an eye out for common pests such as mealybugs, aphids, and spider mites. Treat any infestations early with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

If you come across more specific information or a botanical description of Hoya soligamiana, I recommend adjusting the care to match any particular needs or characteristics that might differ from the general Hoya care guidelines provided.
